In December Monaco lights up: a Christmas village on the port, Casino Square dressed in a new theme each year, and festive tables in the great hotels.
Updated October 2026
The Christmas Village on the port
Each winter a Christmas Village sets up on Quai Albert Ier at Port Hercule. The last edition ran from 5 December 2025 to 4 January 2026 and included a Sports Village with climbing structures, obstacle courses and zip lines. The 2026 dates had not been announced when we checked, so look again closer to the time.
Casino Square and the lights
Monte-Carlo SBM illuminates Casino Square to a new theme each year, and the Casino de Monte-Carlo puts on a sound-and-light show every evening. The lobbies of the palace hotels are dressed with giant trees and decorations.
Festive tables
Monte-Carlo SBM publishes a festive programme each year. It has included Christmas afternoon teas at the Hôtel Hermitage, a festive afternoon tea in the lobby of the Hôtel de Paris, Christmas Eve dinner at Le Louis XV – Alain Ducasse and New Year’s Day lunch at Le Grill. Book early.
New Year’s Eve
On New Year’s Eve, fireworks light up Port Hercule, with music and DJ sets, and the hotels hold New Year’s Eve dinners, among them Blue Bay Marcel Ravin at the Monte-Carlo Bay.
